Ways to disallow google and other search engines to track your search habits.

Since many of the search engines track users and retain search data which can easily give an idea about the person's identity and what a user is looking out for. The basic idea is that the when the user perform the search on search engine ,the site search keep a record of your computer ip address, cookie id,the query terms, and clicks on the search results.

Few ways to tackle are:

1). Disallow cookies for search engine from which you get the information.

    To block cookies, open the Cookie blocking dialog in your browser, type the site url and click disallow or block.

  IE: Click Tools->Internet Options->Privacy->S ites
  Firefox: Click Tool->Options->Priv acy->Cookies->Excep tions

2). Use HideMyIP software.

    Search engines sees that from which ip address the query is typed and in this way can track what the user is looking for.
If ISP provider provides you with the dynamic Ip address which changes frequently than not to worry about that one. Otherwise to Hide the IP, use the HideMyIp software.

3). Don’t use the yahoo or google to search the web which store the user activity. Use other search engines like clusty.com which do not save search data.

4).Block google form tracking your clicks.

   Google Click tracking feature secretly tracks which URL on the web results page was clicked by the user.Google is using this click data to refine their search results and page rank based on which webpages are popular with users and which links are clicked most frequently by Google Users.Google reformats the destination URL so that the click is redirected through Google servers.

   Google embeds a small javascript function in the search results page that redirects any user click via Google web servers.

function rwt(el,ct,cd,sg)
{
var e = window.encodeURIComponent ? encodeURIComponent:escape ;
el.href="/url?sa=t& ct=" mce_href="/url?sa=t& amp;ct=" +e(ct)+"&cd=&quo t;+e(cd)+"&
url="+e(el.href).replace(/+/g,"%2B&qu ot;)+"&ei=f3NCRO GdD6f2qwKh8qT8BA"+sg ;
el.onmousedown=""; return true;
}

5). Use Dogpile.com for searching the Google, MSN and yahoo search engines and block the cookies for those search engines.
